Designed to work for more jobseekers.

SmartnCV aims to provide an inclusive, understandable service and uses WCAG 2.2 Level AA as its accessibility target.

Last updated: 27 August 2026
At a glance
  • Keyboard-visible focus
  • Responsive text and layouts
  • Reduced-motion support

What we are doing

  • Using semantic headings, labels and landmarks.
  • Providing visible keyboard focus and keyboard-operable controls.
  • Maintaining readable colour contrast and avoiding colour-only status information.
  • Supporting smaller screens, text resizing and reduced-motion preferences.
  • Using clear language for scores, errors and recommendations.

Known limitations

  • Image-only scanned PDFs are not currently readable because OCR is not available.
  • The accessibility of a PDF downloaded from the browser can vary by browser and the content entered.
  • Complex document extraction may not preserve every heading, table or reading order from an uploaded file.
  • The service has not yet completed an independent accessibility audit.
